The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

TAMPA BAY TODAY – FEB 25

The fifth in Oldsmar is from maiden allowances types going nine furlongs on the Tampa turf and it features a Chad Brown and two Christophe Clement ship-ins.

They rate to get the most attention at the windows but we’re going another way, preferring two horses with experience over the newcomers.

Faccia Bella (9-2) was a good fourth last out after chasing the lone speed going long for the first time on grass in a strongly run event on the Sam F Davis card.

He may be on the engine with Gallardo here at the longer trip and that ight prove the key. Check out that run on FEB 11, Race 11, to see if you agree.

If “pretty face” disappoints, we’ll save in exactas with Coffee House (10-1) making his turf debut for Eion Harty as a pedigree play.

The Godolphin color bearer hails from a family that produced five turf winners. Turf ace Jesus Castanon comes with the package.

We’ll take Faccia Bella to win at 3-1 or greater, a saver wager on Coffee House at 8-1 or more and will box these two in exactas.
