Today’s Saturday feature does not have a name to precede it, but what it does is a Florida-bred dropping out of a Gulfstream Park restricted stakes into a cozy second allowances/optional claiming event. Sometimes there’s no choice but to take what appears given.
Thinkin Cowtown (7-5) comes from very live owner and trainer connections at Gulfstream as the look to get rolling in Northern Florida here, trainer Georgina Baxter reaching for a familiar partner here, leading rider Samy Camacho.
The 7YO mare, claimed for $25,000 in July of 2019 has been raced sparingly since but has been effective, a win (stakes) and second and two thirds, including her most recent effort in which she made up six lengths from far back at GP–no easy task but a suitable dynamic in Oldsmar.
Check out the Tampa Bay Downs Video–GULFSTREAM PARK, DEC 5, RACE 5 on the HRI homepage–and it should be apparent that this mare is going to be a very tough out.
