GOING GULFSTREAM – MAY 5

Empress Ellie is returning to her favorite surface in Friday’s seventh in Hallandale and is dropping to a career low level in that return.

She’s fresh, and that’s a specialty for the Rohan Crichton barn, posting a 20% winning average with a significant ROI. This outfit is quietly effective on the synth as well.

When last seen, ‘Ellie’ was completely outrun vs. much better on turf t an unsuitably shorter trip. Now back on Tapeta track, she won at today’s trip three starts back.

The clincher is a sharp work-line in which she fired a bullet and near bullet in two recent tries which is typical for a barn that’s so adept with its returnees. The switch to Edwin Gonzalez also suits very well.

We’re taking Empress Ellie to win, with no price restrictions and a boxing an exacta with Big Band Luzziann making her first start for the Fawkes barn, one that all does well with its LAY-1 returnees.
