The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

TAMPA BAY TODAY – MAR 19

I guess today I can expect to learn a hard lesson in backing jockeys on a negative run, but we will pay to find out because we believe the value will be more than fair.

Cesar (5-2) is a deserving favorite in today’s fifth race on he Tampa turf. Not only is he on a good forward Thoro-Graph line but his figure is significantly faster than this group.

The cause for pause is the fact that through Saturday’s races, Lexander Sanchez has won only once in 32 grass course rides. The good news is the crowd is aware and his early line would be more than fair given his edge.

HIs value-providing rivals are God’s Glory (8-1), making his second start for leading trainer Gerald Bennett, and fast-working Pleasant Valiant (10-1), exiting a key race for Team O’Connell/Gallardo.

Boxing all three in exactas and betting Cesar to win at 5-2 or greater.
