The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Not looking to put our bankroll in jeopardy but can’t resist which will prove good value at the end of the time.

We understand that the classy Theodora B (7-5) will be a tough out in Friday’s featured N3X allowances going 1-1/16 miles on the Laurel lawn.

She gets class relief and returns fresh for Michael Dickinson, a legend with runners coming up layups. If you can do it off a year’s layup to win a Breeders’ Cup Mile, winning a race at your home track is not that challenging.

But it’s horses like Not In Jeopardy (6-1) that over time are the better bets. Stretching out off a sprint has worked well for this mare in the past and her recent return from a layup was not bad, considering the circumstances.

Note from the Laurel Park Live Video that she had very little chance to win, tardy from the gate in a contentious sprint and surrounded much of the way when the real running started. Check out RACE 8, MAY 30, we think you’ll agree.

Not only does she get an important rider switch to Javian Toledo, she returns to her best trip where she’s 2-for-6–she’s 1-for-14 doing anything else. The race she exists produced two next out winners and she breezed a sharp half mile since.

We’re taking Not In Jeopardy to win, insisting on early line odds of 6-1 or more, and key boxing exactas with Theodora B. and another classy returnee from a top ‘fresh’ outfit, Ionic (7-2).
