GOING GULFSTREAM – APR 8

On paper, today’s Gulfstream feature looks like a two-horse affair, but when one is 5-2 favorite on the early line and trained by Pletcher, the other handled by the Casse/Gonzalez team and is 6-1, the choice is easy.

Now we know the barn hasn’t been lighting up the world recently but that should keep the wise guys off the scent.

Sendero and Lights of Broadway exit the same race–the fastest on the page–but given the trips, ‘Lights’ enjoys an edge in this matchup, especially at 7.5 furlongs and our choice is pole sitting with an aggressive Edwin Gonzalez in the boot.

Taking Lights of Broadway to win at 4-1 or greater and key-oixing exactas with Pletcher’s Sendero and price shot Prudencio (15-1) exiting a key race at Tampa for a barn that’s a profitable 25% effective when returning from a two month layup.
