With a short field lined up including an even money favorite in today’s feature, we’ll look to get alive in the Rainbow 6 with a value play in a highly competitive turf sprint.
When last seen, Nic’s Bro (6-1) was stalking the pace while wide in his turf debut, gathered momentum on the turn, entered the stretch 5-wide, fired a closing shot but was outkicked in the final strides.
Of note, however, was how well he held off the third finisher who seemed to have the momentum at that point. Chick out the run and see what you think: Gulfstream Park, FEB 18, Race 10.
He kept his advantage on the gallop out and, of greater consequence, came up with a career topping performance and appears forward for a repeat effort which would be good enough here.
The move to an inside post can prove the difference in this spot. Taking Nic’s Bro to win at 9-2 or greater and key boxing trifectas first and second with turn-back Java Buzz (2-1), Feelthebeat (9-2), wo he out-gamed last out, and Discreet Tune (6-1) for the David/Jaramillo, a very productive turf team.
