The feature to close out the racing week in Hallandale is an optional allowances going one mile and 70 yards on Tapeta Track in the day’s 11th race.
It appears that trainer Mark Casse has found a good spot for the four year old debut of the gelded Midway Mischief (5-1).
When last seen, Gary Barber’s charge was breaking maiden going nine furlongs on Woodbine’s Tapeta surface, so today’s two turn trip suits.
But it wasn’t so much the distance or the footing as it was what the Into Mischief offspring had to overcome, surviving a rough start, getting knocked off stride in the drive yet still won with something in reserve.

Given his workout regimen at Casse’s Ocala farm, conditioning should not be an issue. He’s been in training since mid-April and has been exactly on schedule since May. Casse partners once again with South Florida partner Edwin Gonzalez.
