COLLEGE BOWL FRIDAY

By Marc Lawrence — The Pinstripe Bowl is the preeminent bowl game played at a baseball stadium in a city that doesn’t care about college football. The cold weather presumably favors Michigan State and could affect the fast-paced offense Wake Forest generally runs especially if it’s windy. Wake likes to go the air and ranks No. 18 in the country in passing offense, averaging just under 300 yards per game… Oklahoma State RB Chuba Hubbard has rushed 309 times for 1,936 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2019, tops in the nation… WSU passer Anthony Gordon leads the nation in passing with 5,228 passing yards. The out-of-nowhere rubber-armed NFL prospect is 606 passing yards away from breaking the NCAA record for most passing yards in a season… To read more on today’s college bowl games click here.

NBA 2-Minute Handicap

Cleveland: 3-0 $ with double revenge vs. Celtics … Orlando: 4-1 $ vs. Sixers … Atlanta: 11-3 $ with revenge vs. Bucks, including 3-0 with revenge … Indiana: 6-1 $ vs. Heat … Golden State: 18-2 SU vs. Suns.

Grinding Out The Profits

Despite the fact that this year’s College Football Playoff is the best ever as far as talented teams are concerned, we need to see and 8-team format. The truth of the matter is this is not a playoff but more of an invitational tourney. By eliminating college conference title games and placing 8 conference champions in a new playoff format (five from the Power Five conferences and 3 from the highest ranked Group of Five conferences teams), teams would be properly rewarded and the fans would wrap their arms around it like welcoming our military troops back from overseas.
