By Marc Lawrence — Kentucky takes to the road on the heels of its 63-3 road loss at Alabama. Safe to say this qualifies as the most treacherous two-game road trip in college football this season. The Gators have outscored their last four opponents by a 186-97 margin while Florida QB Kyle Trask has racked up 2,554 passing yards with 31 touchdowns and just three interceptions over seven starts. For what its worth: our well-oiled machine notes that road teams off a road loss of 60-plus points are 0-7-1 ATS since 1980 when facing a foe coming off consecutive wins. Ouch. The best hire to come down the pike in recent memory was Iowa State’s hiring of Matt Campbell to the program. ESPN Stats & Info reports that when his Cyclones beat Texas yesterday they have now defeated both Oklahoma and the Longhorns this season. From 1991 until last year ISU was 4-33 versus those schools. In the process Campbell improved his record to 24-6 ATS as a dog, including 11-0 ATS against foes coming off a win. That’s beyond good.
