The end of the 2020 Tampa Bay racing meet today actually begins its annual two-day special stand and each day features a mandatory payout in the Ultimate 6 Jackpot. Wednesday will end live racing until November and it will be missed.
As for today, here’s hoping that Danville (4-1) will complete today’s sequence. On paper it’s an open event for restricted claimers going one mile on turf and the forecast is for clear skies.
A convincing maiden winner two starts back, the three year old gets a significant weight concession and he was very good in his first start against winners even though he didn’t have an easy time of it.
Losing ground throughout, he was forced to steady from between horses entering the far turn, angled out and made a solid run to loom a threat. He had every right to give up the chase but continued his rally for a solid show finish.
He has recency over several main rivals and just now coming into his own; all his siblings have won on turf and, by Temple City, grass is where his future lies. See the Tampa Bay Live Video and check his trip for yourself: APRIL 17, RACE 4.
We’re taking the Chad Stewart trainee to win at 3-1 or greater.
