The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

GOING GULFSTREAM – APR 23

The following is our trip note for Ever Dangerous (3-1), entered in today’s fifth race in Hallandale. “restrained while rated showing good speed on the chase throughout racing 3-4 wide, tired late, short of condition.”

Nothing fancy, no big trouble, but a horse poised to move forward in second start off a brief layup, with good news and bad news for today’s outing.

The good: Winless for quite some time, the class drop makes sense for a 6-year-old gelding and a wide trip is not a winning Tapeta trip. The bad? Post 10 going two turns on the GP lawn.

The spacing is favorable for the Weaver barn that returns to its runner’s preferred surface, one that has earned the fastest figures here with some consistency.

Taking Ever Dangerous to win at 5-2 or greater and key boxing exactas with Chapalu (8-1) and Kinenos (5-2).
