The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

TAMPA BAY TODAY – APR 21

Trip notes on Dudefoolingdarling (6-1) in Friday’s third race in Oldsmar: “improved early speed with 2nd Lasix, awaited room nearing headstretch, finished well too late on fence, vs. winner clear sailing outside.”

First Dude three-year-old never has taken a backward step, clearly the diuretic has helped, went well first time for hot riding Marcos Meneses, re-riding here, and owns best late pace figure as well.

Zippy Zinny (2-1) went well in racing/turf debut last out and Mike Dini makes the switch to leading rider Samy Camacho; Reasonably Lovely (3-1) makes first start off claim from barn that a profitable 25% going dirt to turf.

Further, Royal Flare (7-2) ships in from SoCal making first start at this reduced level, adding Lasix for its turf debut and has three siblings who won on grass, picking up turf ace Hector Diaz.

Taking the value on our trip horse to win at 9-2 or greater and key-boxing trifectas with her three rivals above.
