Seattle over GREEN BAY by 1

By Marc Lawrence — Strange, but true: only two quarterbacks in NFL history have career passer ratings above 100 – Seattle’s Russell Wilson
and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers. Wilson is 4-3 head-to-head
against Rodgers, winning all four games at home while losing all
three games at Lambeau Field, where he’s thrown 6 INTs and has
a 60.4 passer rating. The Packers won those games by a combined
48 points, with Rodgers posting a 112.9 passer rating. But Rodgers
won all three of those games before he suffered a fractured right
collarbone and his passer rating has fallen to 95.6 since. Meanwhile,
Wilson is coming off his best season in the NFL. So where do we
turn here? What we know for sure is both of these playoff squads
have allowed more yards than they’ve gained this season. Thus, it’s
no surprise that good and bad numbers abound for both teams in
this final Divisional Round game on Sunday. Last season was the
first time Seattle failed to win at least one playoff game under Pete
Carroll, which they rectified last week at Philadelphia. The Seahawks
own a franchise best 8-1 road mark this season, while Wilson is 18-
5-1 ATS as a dog off a win in the NFL, including 12-1-1 ATS against
foes coming off consecutive wins. Will that be enough to lift Pete
Carroll is his first-ever postseason away win as a dog (0-7 SU, 4-3
ATS)? Given Green Bay being a 4-win team last season – see San
Francisco on page 2 – we’re betting on it.

  1. I see the ATS numbers in favor of Seattle but barely winning due to luck, refs` bad calls, last minute semi miracles from the $ 40 million QB and then in very frigid temps in GBay with a mediocre defense goes against my sense unless the GBay veteran ha s a bad game and his running backs,Tight End don`t help him.Another close Seattle style game but with Rodgers and co. coming though,,and the points? Can`t let one or two points change my modest opinion even if another ‘system’ tells me otherwise. Seattle `s luck has to stop somewhere, why not in frigid temps [ 15-20 ] ?
