The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

The holiday weekend in the Free State begins with an ultra competitive allowances for older horses going a flat mile, many of which are making their season’s debut.

One of those, Cordmaker (7-2) closed out 2019 on a roll and the gelded five year old should only improve with age. Well posted toward the outside with Alex Cintron, who’s won with this Rodney Jenkins trainee before, the table should be nicely set.

Jenkins is a profitable 22% efficient with returnees of 90 days or longer and Cordmaker has nine recorded works dating back to Apr. 22, three of the bullet variety, and with several quality speed types signed on, his late kick will serve him well.

It certainly did on JUNE 19, RACE 5 when he took the 7-furlong Polynesian Stakes. Check out the Laurel Park Live video on the HRI homepage to see what this guy can do. A 6-for-12 surface lover, he will enjoy the trip, as his (3) 2-1-0 slate suggests.

Taking Cordmaker to win, no price restrictions, and will key-box exactas with tough-tripping surface lover Alwaysmining (3-1) and whichever part of the stable entry goes for the live Jorge Duarte outfit (9-2) with Jevian Toledo in the boot.
