The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

An interesting group of old pros meet in Hallandale for the one mile optional claiming NX3 allowances on the Gulfstream green.

There is not much front speed signed on here but these tactical types should allow for a contested pace in which close-up stalkers could gained a tactical advantage.

With that style, an inside draw, and the presence of Joel Rosario should suit the Michael Maker trained six year old who is seeking his third straight since Maker has been tightening the girth.

Bay Street Money (9-2) will appreciate the mini-turnback here where he is 2-for-6 — with two placings — at today’s trip while he’s 1-for-9 doing anything else.

Further, the Street Sense gelding has been working purposefully toward his course debut, every seven days since he’s shipped south from Kentucky. The tougher competition should ensure fair odds here.

Taking Bay Street Money to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing trifectas with newly blinkered class dropper Mouillage (8-5), top-figure Sky’s Not Falling (9-2), and first-time gelding English Bee (4-1) coming off a three month layup for Graham Motion, who bats a profitable 22% in that scenario.
