Multiple Eclipse Award-winning jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. has ridden seven consecutive winners at Gulfstream today, tying a track record set by Jerry Bailey, Luis Saez, Tyler Gaffalione and Paco Lopez.
He alone did so by winning seven straight races.
As this is written, there is 12 minutes to post for race 9. Ortiz rides Turn On the Charm for trainer Jose Pinchen, 7-2 second choice on the early line.
There is 10 minutes left to get on the Irad gravy trainer, if so inclined. Nine… eight…
Alas, the dream is over as Turn On the Charm failed to handle the Tapeta surface in his synthetic track debut and was never a threat.
Well, first post on Holy Bull Saturday is 11:50 am …
I loved Jerry Bailey, Ramon Dominguez and Garret Gomez in their primes. But this guy is in ‘THE’ conversation. Period.
Jesus christ. the 2 was 6/1 being led into the gate in the Endeavor Stakes at Tampa today, Race 7. He won….at 7/2. Unbelievable, and honestly I never would have even bet her at 7/2. This BS is so tiring.
