JOCKEY CLUB STATEMENT ON MEDINA SPIRIT’S POSITIVE POST-RACE TEST

Along with everyone in the sport, we were troubled by the report [Sunday] by trainer Bob Baffert of a notice that Medina Spirit tested positive for betamethasone in the Kentucky Derby.

We sincerely hope justice is swift, sure, fair, and uniform.

Bettors and fans need to have unshakable confidence in the integrity of the sport. The passage of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA) undeniably will give our sport a far better level of regulation.

It is unfortunate that there are still some people in our sport who oppose HISA. We can only conclude that they don’t want better regulation.

  1. Now Baffert getting on a cable news channel and spitting cable news cliches – blaming “Cancel Culture”??!!?!

Good lord, this guy is a such a fucking clown.

  2. “Cancel Culture” as in cancel fan interest.

What about Bob again, lol. Hey, it’s Bob Baffert. Why do any testing at all? None of his people knew or did anything wrong. Say it ain’t so Bob.

For the good of all involved and the sport itself, just give the man another pass. Only the truth gets reported on Fox. We all know the score.
Besides, the horse will more than likely be retired by early summer anyway.

Didn’t we already go through all of this with baseball. “Say it ain’t so Joe.”

Turning the page to the Belmont. Little interest on this Saturday in Baltimore. Never said that before.
    Enough is enough is enough.
