GOING GULFSTREAM – AUG 5

Handicappers won’t need a roadmap to find the deserving favorite in Gulfstream’s Saturday feature, an optional allowance event for three-year-olds and older horses going seven furlongs.

Big and Classy (2-1) has done it all of late, second in a Grade 3 last out, he gets a break in company, loving the surface and the trip.

His trainer, Bobby DiBona, is en fuego and his recent half mil breeze in 47 was fastest of 52 older horses to work the week of JUL 20.

But Ny Traffic (3-1) is back, doing what he loves best: Racing when fresh at elongated sprint distances.

He too like the Gulfstream strip, has run some of his best races when returning from a break. and he’s been lighting it up in the morning, going 58 3/5 in his major work, the fastest five furlongs of the week.

And, of course, the team of Joseph and Zayas need no introduction. Taking Ny Traffic to win at 5-2 or greater, and exacta box with the favorite, and adding an improving Mish (9-2) to the exotics mix.
