The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

GOING GULFSTREAM – JUL 12

With the prospects of rain highly likely in the afternoon, the safest risk–so to speak-is to concentrate on which runner can handle Tapeta Track in that eventuality.

Half the 8-horse field has a license but we’re most interested in is Socialongdistance (5-2) who is a two-way player.

Should the race remain on turf, he has excellent figures to return to coming off a disappointing try. If the race is rescheduled to synth, he can handle that as well.

Not only that, but he returns to his optimal Horse for Distances mark of (7) 3-0-1. He fits the race shape, is nicely posted outside, ensuring a clean trip.

Since there is still unknowns, we cannot take lower than the early line straight. We’re key boxing exactas with major contenders, classy-for-the-level Sir Saffer (3-1 and Vladislav (5-2).

Super-exotics players can add fast-working Thought (5-1) [47.80 week of JUL 5 was 4th fastest of 57 peers] to their mix.
