The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Sunday’s Laurel feature is an easy one for us to reconcile since Ylikedis (5-1) has been in our stable mail going on two months now. Trainer Kelly Rubley has been spot-shopping all that time.

Between races either being rescheduled to the main track or tougher spots–she exits a live Pimlico restricted stakes–she’s been been kept sharp with a recent recent Fair Hill breeze and the race she comes out of is live, already producing a winner.

Today’s spot looks like an excellent fit, her regular partner Julien Pimentel takes the call and she nicely posted in mid-gate.

Ylikedis has an excellent turf of foot to go with her tactical speed and if Sunday’s course is anything like Saturday’s, she will appreciate the ground.

It won’t be easy as she meets rivals from the productive McGaughey and Stidham outfits but that should insure fair odds ante post.

Taking Ylikedis straight at 4-1 or greater and key boxing exactas with Shug’s Repatriated Gem (4-1) and Mike’s On the Town (7-2).
