MAXIMUM SECURITY LIVES

Good to see the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational winner back on the work tab after an aborted attempt to run in the Pennsylvania Derby last month.

Colic prevented Maximum Security from a start in the Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby but now seems to be in recovery as he had his usual slow breeze Saturday at his Monmouth Park base.

As is Jason Servis’ training style, the half-mile in 52 4/5 was an integral fraction in the midst of an open mile.

He has been withdrawn from Breeders’ Cup consideration and instead will run in the G3 Bold Ruler Stakes sprint vs. elders a week from Saturday at Belmont Park.

Don’t know how many Eclipse votes will be earned with a victory, but it may be a good start on the road to the Pegasus Invitational at Gulfstream Park in January, in indeed he returns at 4.
