Krone to Teach at Jockey Camp

Hall of Fame Jockey Julie Krone

Hosted and instructed by Hall of Fame Jockey Julie Krone, in association with Long Shadows Charitable Foundation, the first annual Julie Krone Junior Jockey Camp at Long Shadows Farms will be launched in Cambridge, NY, July 22-26.

There is no one better than Krone to do this. The winner of 3,704 races, Krone has the most wins on record of any female jockey in history.

The Junior Jockey Camp is for children aged 12-17, who will learn about horsemanship, horse health and safety, and horseracing from Krone and Tabitha Morgan, manager and head instructor at Long Shadows Farm.

Said Krone: “I am proud and excited to lend my name to our Junior Jockey Camp.”

Business and private donations will sponsor a limited number of campers selected from local communities based on financial need and on the commitment and desire they expressed in written essays accompanying the application.

Long Shadows Charitable Foundation and its farm, a 165-acre sanctuary, is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation. A $1,500 sponsorship for each student covers instruction, equipment, horse care, student meals, and transportation to and from Long Shadows Farm, as well as JKJJC logo T-shirts and caps.

Information is available at www.juniorjockeycamp.com, and by calling Ms Krone at 760.470.3442, or Morgan at 760.889.6633.
