The “Worst Stinkin’ Bet of the Day” for Sunday, January 19, 2020, will be in the 9th Race at Gulfstream Park.
Wisdom from the Weeds: “Relativity is relative.”
Winning is overrated. So often who beat you is more important. 8-Kadar has run better in losing than his rivals have in winning. Irad Ortiz, Jr., will ride, so a good trip is ensured. Been teasing trip handicappers of late, but they are probably too busy watching races to read what is written here, and no harm is meant, truly. There is valuable information to be gleaned from watching those races. Some of those guys are veritable encyclopedias of difficult race factors; track bias, tongue ties, blinkers, breeding, shoe info, Lasix, horse weight, pounds carried, wind speed and barometric pressure. It’s all Greek to me, but then I only completed the 3rd grade. In a nutshell, trip handicappers study minutia, and the past, speed, pace and class handicappers foresee the future through a lens of relativity. Remember, win, place and show, will make your wallet grow.
