GOING GULFSTREAM – NOV 18

With a hot pace looming in co-featured 10th race sprint in Hallandale, prudence demands we look for runners who do their best running late.

Big Martini and King Cab–especially with his recent sharp half-mile from the gate–figure to hook up at some point and we’re left with D’Angelo-improved Granted Success (6-1) and Bird Wildcat (7-2).

We’re opting for Bird Wildcat for two reasons: He exits the Classic Car Wash return at seven furlongs on OCT 21 where he was a willing-finish third despite not changing to his correct lead in the lane.

Further, he enjoys a positional edge breaking from the far outside going 6 furlongs–his winning trip two back–while ‘Wildcat’ is stuck on the fence while moving up in class. However, another forward move may be forthcoming.

We’re taking Bird Wildcat to win on the turnback with Samy Camacho at 5-2 or greater, an exacta box with Granted Success, and adding Big Martini and King Cab to the super-exotics mix.
