The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

…That we’ve been asked to appear on the “The Ron Flatter Racing Pod,” Friday. Find it at or wherever you listen or watch your favorite podcasts.

Among other things, we’ll talk a little about developments in the Rick Dutrow case before taking a deep dive into Saturday’s Grade 2 Fountain of Youth.

Ron will take a deeper dive into Chance It, the fast, gritty Gulfstream Park lover–killed by the post draw when he pulled the #12 slip–with his trainer, SoFla phenom Joseph Saffie Jr.

  1. I enjoyed your analysis of the Fountain of Youth, JP, and hearing your spoken opinions on the Dutrow situation expanding your written remarks.

  2. Thanks I, no false modesty but I was off my game. Used to do this kind of stuff regularly and, as Todd might say, you get in a good rhythm. But it was fun. Ron Flatter is network talent worthy; and he’s covered just about every major event in sports, and in our sport. Has covered the Arc on his own dime in fact. Hope he invites us back again soon. Thanks again…
