| Grinding Out The Profits — The NFL played its 25th regular-season game in London last week. And for the 25th straight time, the game did not feature 2 winning teams. Think about that. The league has been going to London since 2007 – the year the iPhone debuted – and they have yet produce a football game between 2 teams with winning records. Why is that, you ask? It’s because the NFL sends teams to London that struggle to fill their home stadiums, and those tend to be the worse teams in the league. Look for that pattern to change real soon. Never To Be Spoken Of Again Dan Wolken of the USA TODAY notes in his College Football Week 6 Observations this week: Michigan-Iowa should never be spoken of again. Can we just forget that ever happened, he asks? If you’re a fan of aesthetically pleasing football, you weren’t going to find it in Ann Arbor as No. 18 Michigan plodded to a 10-3 win. You rarely see a game these days where neither team reaches 300 yards of offense, but Michigan finished with 267 and 14th-ranked Iowa had 261 with just one net yard rushing. Wolken also notes it was a heck of a run for UCF, but it’s first conference loss since 2016 last week, and its second loss this season, will make it almost impossible for the Knights to earn a New Year’s Six bowl bid.
