Today’s third event in Hallandale is a maiden allowance sprint going 5 furlongs on turf and it appears to be a two-filly affair between Little Jewel (5-2) and She’s Stormy (3-1).
‘Jewel’ is a deserving favorite given her game finish second upon local debut after having crowding issues at the start and finishing between horses, showing improvement from start one to start two.
Carlo Vaccarezza will give a leg up to Irad Ortiz on this day. But She’s Stormy has merit, too.
With a little more experience, her local debut was a good one as she came out running and matched up her best effort on debut at 2.
Jimmy Jerkens’ horses have been running well. Thus far a bit handier than her rival here she’s have a tactical advantage on her main rival and Luis Saez will know how to exploit it. Check out her effort on JAN 6, Race 3 to see if you agree.
Likely the better price ante post, we’re taking She’s Stormy to win at 5-2 or greater, boxing the exacta with Little Jewel and adding Mrs. Whistler (9-2) with Paco to the trifecta mix.
