An interesting maiden race for three year olds catches the eye in Saturday fourth event that is well supported by two marquee trainers from New York, Todd Pletcher and Christophe Clement.
Pletcher will saddle two of the seven both making their debuts, Prove Worthy (7-2) for the partnership of Vinny Viola and Mike Repole, the other Ringside (7-2) who was gaveled down for $1.3 million.
Clement, meanwhile, starts favorite Summer Cruise (2-1), whose run well in both starts, one in which he’s had some trouble and earned good figures in each. He will appreciate moving outside and the switch to Pablo Morales.
This provide an opportunity for value and we’re taking it.
Suerte (9-2) has much going for him, namely two-race experience, showing progress from debut to start two, a good effort over today’s surface for the Eoin Harty barn, who’s been doing well with sophomores going two turns at this stand.
Seven-pound apprentice Laureano has won two starts for this outfit in four opportunities which has been hot of late, compiling a 2-3-0 mark with his last five runners through Thursday’s racing.
Check out his run on DEC 2, Race 5 in the video section on the HRI homepage, a key event that’s produced two winners from three starters to run back. This seals the deal for us.
Betting Suerte to win at 7-2 or greater and boxing an exacta with Summer Cruise.
