By Marc Lawrence, PlayokkSports.com — Mattress Mack is back. After suffering a string of losses Jim McIngvale, the Houston furniture store owner, bet $3.3 million on the Jayhawks to tonight’s Monday’s NCAA tournament national championship game against the Tar Heels.
McIngvale got Kansas at +190, meaning a win would earn Mattress Mac $6.27 million.
According to ESPN, he started the year losing $6.15 million on the Alabama Crimson Tide to win the College Football Playoff National Championship game. A bet on the Cincinnati Bengals against the LA Rams in Super Bowl cost McIngvale $9.5 million.
He hedges his wagers on store promotions for customers who spend at least $3,000 on mattresses and furniture at his store, giving them their money back if he wins the bet.
The Kansas bet was not Mattress Mack’s first NCAA tournament wager. He bet $1 million to win $2.16 million on a team from the East Region of the tournament to take the national title.
That bet also came with a promotion at McIngvale’s store, but customers would only get their money back if a team from Texas won it all

Wonder if anyone, esp. young , inexperienced, naive victims of those insisting ads by FD and the other young blood suckers will fall to such insane way to advertise- sell a product. Hoping that his losing streak continues, nothing personal, because He himself has to Learn, grow up and stop gloating and search for publicity worse than a teen in her first few months in college. Too old for a Look at Me syndrome. Play, bet quietly and behave according to your age,as if you ve already been there,at your age. What, cannot sell your products in a legit way ? Just imagine if most big bettors would seek the spotlight as this guy does… I would Totally Ignore him and his crave for attention. Grow up,old man !👎 What s next,Funeral Homes owners giving away free burials ? Dentists offering Free Dentures ?😁
