|Race 1 Review by Dave Brower – Friday, September 11, 2020|
1 STEUBEN MAGIC RIDE – Looks like a medium longshot with that 0-10 record this year sticking out. Down from Maine for the try, and drew another nice post. I imagine Alexandra will have the gelding sitting in and saving ground.
2 FRILLS N LACE – Here’s a talented young filly with a case of “seconditis” right now! Oh well! Maybe she can get home on top with Joe Lee? She packs pretty good speed and may only need to show some stamina on the mile track.
3 MAY I CRUISE WEST – Retains his usual longshot status. Hasn’t won in a long time, so I will take a pass again.
4 FOREVER WORTH IT – Down from the Ridge for a big track try and Dave Glasser picks up the steer. I like the way this guy was grinding into races for Drew Monti up there. That’s the ticket! Hopes for hot pace, and one big move.
5 RACE ME ROCKY – Been used hard on the lead in last few up at the Spa. Okay. Bob Davis likes to leave and is likely to send. But, can he get around the younger filly? That’s a good question. Rocky seems overdue for a stalking trip.
6 CONMAN’S DREAM – Also down from the Spa, where he was technically in a better race than #5. This one probably needs an easier spot and I’m not sure this is it. Demand fair value if you fancy his chances.
7 THAT’S OFFICIAL – Missed a couple of weeks, so that’s always a concern. Seems to lack early speed, so here’s another closer hoping for some mayhem up front, to set up the late kick. A lot to prove here on the big track.
8 MCARD ATTACK – Been off way too long and is stuck outside. That spells pass for me tonight.
9 PROPHET BLUE CHIP – Yes, that’s a 78-1 win over at Yonkers. Keep in mind that this guy is just faster than this bunch. I’m not in love with the post, but we know how Roy M likes to drive. He’d better save something for the stretch.
10 LEAR SEELSTER – Talk about the bad post blues! When’s the last time Lear drew a decent post? Don’t know.
DRIVER CHOICES: None

|Race 2 Review by Dave Brower – Friday, September 11, 2020|
1 MARVALOUS ONE – Makes first start back off a pretty long layoff, so I have to feel he needs this. Has prior experience with a big track, so I’m not worried about that. Note the second qualifier was better than the first. I’m going to wait.
2 JUST WAVE GOODBYE – One of several in here that haven’t won yet this season. That last try at Philly was best one recently. Meets a very similar kind of group here. Might need a touch more speed, but it’s not out of question.
3 SAMMY B HAPPY – Also on the comeback trail here and I can’t play off just one slow qualifier on the half.
4 BLACK HAMMER – The Hammer doesn’t win too often, but he has been in better form since coming back. He’s best with that one move, but timing and trip are always critical. This is ideal post for him. Not sure about pace in here.
5 NORTHERN JACK – Overall, he has raced better for The Mann, but they can’t get over the hump and win one of these. I will note that he did go a little faster on opening night last week. Maybe this is finally the spot? I say maybe.
6 S MCKEE – Cano sure had this fella ready for the debut in new barn! Nice trip. Good kick. Big price. But, as I always like to say, if you didn’t go to the wedding, be careful here. Price will be LOT lower, and Dave did not stick. Why?
7 SPONDULICKS N – It’s been a long time between dances for this gelding too! I have to consider this a little bit of a drop, out of that tougher claimer. But, his form isn’t exactly exciting right now. Needs a BIG wakeup call. Corey’s pick.
8 SOMESURFSOMEWHERE – Always a huge longshot, searching to pick up a check. Probably not, from this post.
9 DRAMATIC POINT – I really thought he was a cinch last week. I was wrong. I guess he truly “needed” the race after missing significant time. Stuck with another horrible post, but he should be a lot tighter now. No excuses, please.
10 I’M SID THE KID – Sid isn’t getting much love from the post gods lately. Same here. Have to pass again.
