By Dave Brower — Early Double Analysis for Friday
1 VIOLET STRIDE – She’s a little “hard-to-handicap” at times, but very talented when she wants to play! Her first start back left me a little lacking, so I’m anxious to see what she offers tonight. First of many stakes for her this year.
2 FORTUNE STARLET – She was absolutely super here last summer! I love that George D “turned her out” to grow up and mature. Sports two excellent preps to get ready for this. One in Florida and one at Vernon. She IS ready!
3 ALYVIA DEO – Did earn some green in state-bred races last year, so that’s the goal again. Had a couple of fair preps where she trotted a little faster. IF she takes the next step, she can pick up a piece of this at a huge price.
4 DUBAI PRINCESS – That was SOME qualifier here last week from post 10! Took a long time to get to the lead, but swelled up once she got there. Nice effort from Mr. Takter too! Yannick takes over now and we’ll see speed again. Trainer: Made some shoeing changes on her between her two qualifiers at M1. Improved second time! Nice filly, but lacks a little experience. She had ability, and some talent.
5 NEVER LATE KAIT – I like that she stayed trotting in her first two go’s this season. She just needs to learn to go faster now. Definitely a longshot, but only has to beat two to pick up a check.
6 COMMON SENSE S – Ended her season with a really good try in the Goldsmith Maid. Trotted home strongly! That’s how you put one away for the winter. Not sure how ready she is, after just one qualifier. I wanted to see a second.
7 TRICKY SISTER – This could be one of the “keys” to the race. She’s been very carefully raced from OFF the pace so far, but finished up well both times. Gloves coming off tonight? Needs a touch of speed, just to get into it. Usable.

|Race 2 Review|
1 JULA CHAMPAGNE – In a new barn for her sophomore season. Sports two qualifying preps and I don’t like to see that break in the second one. She’s hinted at serious ability before, but I need to see more before I can endorse.
2 FORTUNE TELLN LADY – Team Zeron filly here. Gained valuable experience at two. I really like the look of her qualifier, and first start back with a tough trip. She may have “grown up” a little. Can be a solid threat IF she trots.
3 SPOILED PRINCESS – Homebred banged out three wins as a freshman, so you know the talent is there. Finished strongly in the Magical Acres qualifier, and just went around there vs. the boys by design. This is what waiting for.
4 DRAMATRA – Here’s another filly that flashed talent at times last year. George D has three qualifiers into her to get ready, and note she’s made no mistakes. That’s a very good thing! I expect conservative handling. Will finish strong.
5 AB’SATTITUDEXPRESS – Lucas W has himself a nice filly here. Homebred by Trixton took the easy route last year, with no stakes, but did very well. They probably think very highly of her! Trotted home smartly in that second qualifier.
6 CAVIART EVA – Andy Mac put an absolutely perfect drive on her, as part of the barn’s BIG opening weekend! That was more than I expected from her! So, can she step back UP to the stakes level now? This post is a little tougher. Trainer: Was happy with her first start of the year. She really wants to be a good horse and puts her best effort forward.
7 LINDY’S STARDUST – Didn’t really get it going at two, with, or without hopples. So, she moves into a new barn this year and shows one successful qualifier for Ake. I just have a feeling he will be very careful with her in this spot.
Scott Zeron 2 over 4
Yannick Gingras 5 over 1
