BROWER IN THE BIKE – FRI

By Dave Brower, Meadowlands Handicapper — Early Double Analysis — Friday, April 30, 2021 —

Race 1

1 KAITLYN N – One of SEVEN class droppers in here, just to make things easier for the handicappers. She did not belong in that series over at Yonkers and you see the results. She has won here before, but needs serious wakeup call.

2              CHELSKI – Another fresh face over from Yonkers where she was tackling somewhat tougher. Can’t guarantee she’ll turn into a big-track horse, but she gets to try at a low level. Wasn’t McNair’s choice, but I expected that. Medium price.

3              STICK THAT LIP OUT – Didn’t really fire upon return against a slightly tougher grouping. So, she gets a notch of relief, but I’m not sure it’s enough. Will have to finish the mile a lot better than she did last week. Hard to predict.

4              VH PRINCESS BREA – She simply seems to have tailed off for now. Have to wait for a better effort from her too!

5              RED DIRT STAR – Looks like they’ve left this mare in a new barn for now. Her first go here wasn’t all that great, but she had missed time and could have needed it. Exits claimers for this seemingly easier spot. Could show a lot more.

6              ALKIPPE – We have to take a guess here, but this clearly looks like the spot to take a shot in. She only won once last year, but it did come here, and in a similar spot to this. I’m pretty sure pilot will put her in play earlier. Watch out.

7              MAJESTIC VIRGIN – She’s now had two starts to get used to the place, and the second one was better. Can you say, third time’s the charm? I guess it’s all about showing some better speed tonight. Has to get into the game earlier.

8              JENORA N – Found her way up the Turnpike to Club Med last week with first time Lasix. Kind of raced evenly. It’s going to take more than that to win here, so demand a fair price if you think she improves here. Very tough call.

9              J ROCKIN B – Barn’s got a pair and they’re both medium longshots. Looks like she got tortured in that last one at Yonkers and got put on the steward’s list. Requalified okay. But, it’s still post nine. Will she take a shot and blast?

Race 2

1              BEAUTIFUL GAME – I suspect she needed her first start back, and it was a good, educational experience. Was up against the boys, and meets a few more of them tonight. I do like this spot better. Tries get the jump on #6.

2              SEVEN NATION ARMY – Bounced back very nicely over at Pocono once the hopples went on. Had some good, mile track experience in Kentucky last fall. Fits this group perfectly, IF he minds his manners. Take a good, long look.

3              MUSCLE DYNASTY – Very tough call here, coming off that break in his second qualifier here. Often, a horse might miscue in the first, but then trot in the second. That’s not necessarily a good sign. I want to watch one again.

4              MUSKINGUM – Has offered up a couple even efforts here so far. So, the jury’s still out if she’s good enough to win here. Has a slight age edge on a few, but I guess I’d like to see more before I could bet. Fire a bigger shot!

5              BEYOND ORDINARY – Transitions over to a totally different class level tonight. Just put a line through that start from post 10. This is a LOT more like it. Dexter knows her now. We should expect to see a lot more speed tonight.

6              SHESWILDNFREE – Invades from the north for a very good barn! And, this mare looks like she’s got major talent! Not sure why she miscued that one time, but her speed looks solid. Will try to control this one, and just might do it.

7              LIGHT BLUE MOVERS – Still acting up out there and still very much a “work in progress.” He’s not there quite yet.
