1 MARTINIQUE BEACH – Debuts for new connections here and adds Lasix. Both positives! Seemed well behind #10 in the qualifier, but that may have been all they wanted to do. Don’t be shocked if this lass steps up with a big effort.
2 DEE DEE KAY – Went all the way up to Tioga to qualify and makes the trip back to NJ to race. That’s a nice-looking line, but is somewhat slowish time. Will have to go a lot faster to threaten these. I usually need to see it first.
3 SOUND IDEA – Had a very productive freshman season last year. Got a lot of races in. Made a few bucks. Even won one of them. Filly comes out of a very fast qualifier where she was merely “keeping up.” Might need one more.
4 HIDDEN COVE – I guarantee this lass will be ready for roll for Team Miller! They got two qualifiers into her before shipping north and that will give her an edge. Plus, both efforts look super. Might offer better value than #10?
5 WINDFALL PROFITS – A Sweet Lou filly here, and she also got good experience last season. Flirted with stakes, but just wasn’t ready for that yet. Starts back in perfect spot here, but I wonder if she was good in qualifier. I don’t know.
6 SPRECKLES – Was just getting ready when everything shut down. Her comeback qualifier wasn’t all that great. Pass.
7 SPECIAL ACHIEVER – I’ll keep this lady on the longshot list for now. That slow qualifier at Goshen will not be enough.
8 GOLDEN QUEST N – Here’s the sneaky price play, if you wish! This is a 5YO tackling all younger fillies. That should give her a big edge, if Sears can get her into the game from tough post. The qua is probably better than looks on paper.
9 ALEXIS’S BEACH – It’s always dangerous to ignore a Pelling trainee that has talent. I’m just hoping they will race her conservatively from the bad post and let her finish. Maybe from too far back?
10 SO RUDE – Here’s the one to catch, based on that superb qualifier down at home base. I did not see it, but wish that I did. I’ve been told that Joe B was fully urging everything. Regardless, that’s a sparkling looking line. Your call?

|Race 2 Review by Dave Brower – Saturday, June 6, 2020|
1 LOU’S SWEETREVENGE – Made 10 starts as a freshman, mostly in stakes races where he was overmatched a bit. Could turn around and become a real nice horse this year. Chased his stablemate in qualifier that may be better than looks.
2 ALEX HAVING FUN – I didn’t see all that much in the qualifier here, so let’s keep him on the longshot list for now.
3 TITO ROCKS – Unfurled a better-than-it-looks qualifier here last week. Had a nice late kick, under no urging at all. This barn had quite a season here last year. Expect this fella to be very ready soon, if not tonight. Tough call.
4 MAJOR ASSET – Got a touch tired chasing the very good Hickfromfrenchlick up at Goshen. Just probably wasn’t ready to go that fast up there. But, it does tell me that he might need a race or two before we see his best. I’ll wait.
5 AMAZON – One guy that can always get them ready off a layoff is Mr. Croghan. Looks like he was ready to roll back in March with those excellent qualifiers at Sunshine Meadows. Three months late, another super prep. He’s ready!
6 SPLASH BROTHER – Can’t go much better than he did up at home base of Goshen. Ray had his “own” qualifiers up there, to make sure his horses were ready to race. Guess what? This Splash is ready. Will try to “steal away” from #7.
7 NO LOU ZING – Talk about talented! But, also talk about headcase? This gelding was absolutely airborne in the final yards here last week. A very eye-catching burst! But, will he mind his manners until ¾ pole? That is the question.
8 BOMBSHELL HANOVER – Also had a very productive freshman campaign. Hit board in five of seven. Flirted with stakes. Offered very strong speed. The perfect start to career. Catches tough bunch, but qualified very well. Interesting.
9 BRAZEN BRAZILIAN – Was used pretty hard in the early going last Saturday and paid the price late. Still, it was a good foundation kind of effort. Unfortunately, gets slammed with another terrible post, against a very good field. Wait.
10 ROLL WITH DOM – If #7 didn’t come flying, Dom would have won a tight photo last Saturday. It really was a very good effort. But, what’s he going to do from post 10? Would need even more speed than he showed last week.
