The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

GOING GULFSTREAM – APR 13

On paper, today’s eighth race shakes out as a two-horse race, with a runner with a solid rebound chance. We’re going to allow early line odds be our guide.

The two who interest most are Greavette (10-1) and Todd Pletcher-trained Artemis Sound (5-1) who exits a looming key race that produced one winner from two subsequent starters.

Greavette never has taken a backward step in four lifetime starts. She owns a PA-bred stakes on Tapeta and was a good third in an open turf stakes at Aqueduct, ending her 2-year-old campaign.

Trainer James Begg is profitable lifetime in Hallandale, albeit from a small sample, and is 17% effective with layups of 90 days +, with 50% money finishers. Jockey Edwin Gonzalez presently is riding in top form.

Pole sitting, the rail drawn allows her versatility as a speed his or stalker, the anticipated tack. She appears appropriately spotted at this level.

Taking Greavette to win at 5-1 or greater ,and making three-horse exotics boxes with the fillies above and Taprixie (4-1), a top figure maiden winner on turf two back, before having gate issues in her last on Tapeta Track.
