By Jessie Sale for Insider Sport — DraftKings has announced a deal with the National Hockey League (NHL) to become its official sports betting, daily fantasy Sports and igaming Partner in the US.
Additionally, the betting platform has also reached an agreement with Turner Sports, including Bleacher Report, to become the exclusive sportsbook and daily fantasy sports provider for their coverage of the NHL.
Keith Wachtel, NHL Chief Business Officer and Senior Executive Vice President, commented: “As we embark on what promises to be a thrilling 2021-22 NHL season, our partnership with DraftKings, as well as with Turner Sports, will provide for new and exciting experiences to deepen our fan engagement.
“We’re proud to welcome back DraftKings to the NHL family, and look forward to collaborating together with Turner Sports – one of our valued media partners – to develop unique and exciting content for our fans.”
In collaboration with Turner Sports, DraftKings looks to provide sports betting information and daily fantasy content across the outlets telecasts and Bleacher Report digital channels, including the B/R app.
Its planned integrations include DraftKings’ betting odds and daily fantasy statistics, ‘original’ content, personalised automated alerts and editorial across B/R channels including the B/R Betting vertical.

Turner Sports entered into a multimedia rights agreement with the NHL in April which brought the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Final to TNT for the first time, alongside the campaign to include a 50-game schedule.

In line with the recent increase of safe gambling campaigns, DraftKings has continued its commitment to ‘creating inclusive and responsible pathways’ for people to build through its S.E.R.V.E.S. platform.
The enterprise states that responsible gaming is a key pillar of the programme and its mission is to ‘protect the vulnerable’ with technology, training, resources and the support of evidence-based research.
