The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

TO QB OR NOT TO QB

By Marc Lawrence —
XFL.com reports the Tampa Bay Vipers have two local heroes at quarterback. The Vipers also have the league’s first quarterback controversy. Aaron Murray, who played football at Tampa s Plant High, got the start in the opener and struggled. Murray threw for 231 yards but completed just 47 percent of his passes and was intercepted twice while compiling a league-low 45.1 Passer Rating. He was replaced late in the game by Quinton Flowers, who played at the University of South Florida. The original plan was to use Flowers as a running back and sprinkle him in periodically at quarterback. Head coach Marc Trestman is already facing a re-evaluation of quarterbacks early on. Grinding Out The Profits
A pair of Top 25 teams meet in Eugene tonight where the top two teams in the Pac-12 go toe-to-toe for top honors in the loop. Setting the table is Oregon returning home with revenge on its mind off a double-digit loss as a favorite in their last game, a role in which they stand 8-1 SUATS when playing with 3 or more days of rest. Meanwhile Colorado enters off a win at Stanford knowing they are 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS away after taking on The Tree. You know what to do
