The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

CALL HIM MISTER MONEY!

Appearing a winner throughout, Goldencents colt Mr. Money ran off the screen in the late stages of the West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer, never giving his 1-2 backers an anxious moment.

Trainer Bret Calhoun has managed a brilliant campaign on the Minor Derby Trail, but it’s possible the colt’s connections will be hunting bigger game in the near future.

Shortly after racing nine furlong in 1:50.28 beneath Gabriel Saez, Chester Thomas, principal owner of the Allied Racing group, said: “Hopefully there are bigger and better things in the future for us.”

Sounds like that would include the $1-million Pennsylvania Derby at Parx next month. Time has comes to put on your big boy racing plates.
