Mark Messier… 6. Jaromir Jagr… 7. Marcel Dionne… 8. Phil Esposito… 9. Steve Yzerman… 10. Ron Francis. Note: Francis makes the list as the #2 all-time assists leader behind Gretzky. Ovechkin is a great goal scorer, but ranks #49 in assists of the top 50 all-time points leaders.

Bobby Orr was the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates. ROY, 7 times in a row DOY. 50 goal seasons, 150 point seasons. ( as a defensive man) put Esposito in the HOF through his 120 mph on goal slap shot. Gretsky is second.
