THE MIRACLE OF ST. PETER’S

By Marc Lawrence, PlaybookSports.com — So far they have defeated 26-8 Kentucky, 31-3 Murray State and 29-8 Purdue.

This is where Saint Peter’s ranked nationally in four major offensive categories entering the NCAA tournament:

– 317th in 2-point field goal efficiency

– 317th in turnover rate

– 273rd in free throw percentage

– 260th in adjusted offensive efficiency

The Peacocks played just six non-conference Division-1 games, losing five of them, including by 21 to St. John’s, 14 to Providence and 11 at home to St. Francis of NY. They even lost at Stony Brook. And now they are the first team in NCAA tournament history to win multiple games as a double-digit dog.

We need to find out what’s in the water that the Cinderella Peacocks are drinking.
