By Marc Lawrence — CBS Sports reports the NFL is close to a new collective bargaining agreement that would bring big changes to the schedule in the preseason, regular season and the playoffs. Included in the discussions are: a three-game preseason, a 17-game regular season, seven teams from each conference making the playoffs (up from six), only one team from each conference getting a first-round bye, and a No. 2 seed facing a No. 7 seed in the first round. As an avid football fan all I can say is bring it on, baby. And Now, This… It was reported that Cleveland Browns OL Greg Robinson – reputedly not the sharpest knife in the drawer – was caught with 157 pounds of weed in his car at the US-Mexico border this week. Border police reportedly found all that grass stuffed into duffle bags in Robinson’s vehicle. They also found 23 mason jars, a can sealing machine, an electronic scale and over $3,000 in cash. Robinson was either headed for an appearance on Shark Tank or was on his way to the greatest party ever. It also goes hand in hand as to why Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield was oftentimes smoked by opposing linemen this past football season. [Sorry, couldn’t resist that one.] Robinson was the No. 2 overall pick by the Rams in the 2014 Draft and was due to be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Browns figure to let him walk … potentially to a 20-year gig in prison. |
