By Marc Lawrence, PlaybookSports.com — That 99.1% equals the “saves” run that Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has been on of late in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, making saves on 110 of the last 111 shots thrown at him – including 67 in a row.
Bobrovsky had lost his starting job to journeyman goalie Alex Lyon at the end of the season but waited patiently for his chance to re-enter the starting lineup.
Obviously patience is a virtue when it comes to ‘Bob’. He’s carrying the team on its back en rout to the Stanley Cup Finals. Not bad for an 8th place team.
