The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

OF GULFSTREAM PARK, TAMPA BAY DOWNS and STATE FARM ARENA

OLDSMAR, FL, February 12 — Happy Super Sunday.

People have been asking so here it is: Have no idea who is going to win tonight. I believe the Eagles are fundamentality better on both sides of the ball, quarterback and coaching notwithstanding.

I was prepared to take a point or two. The Eagles opened at +1 and moved out to -2-1/2 virtually overnight. As Cary Fotias taught me, to paraphrase, it’s not about team, it’s about price. Believe the line went back to -2 a few days later, but just don’t like the fave vibe. I can watch, it should be a great game.

My guess is that Andy Reid will decide that if Jalen Hurts is going to beat his squad, he’ll have to do it with his arm, not his legs. Reid/Spagnola/Mahomes formidable trio. But love the Philly D. May the best team win — and may the officials have a good night.

As for my day job, I will be making plays on Siege of Boston in the featured eighth In Hallandale (4-1) and Hidden Stash (3-1) in the ninth in Oldsmar. Time to pack for the drive south, with John Hiatt for company.
