Today’s one-mile turf finale is an interesting maiden allowances and an old-home look for New York-based horsemen. Chad Brown, John Terranova, Christophe Clement and Graham Motion have entered.
Motion has early line favorite Thegirlfromireland (3-1) and she deserves the honor after she demonstrated a good turn of foot in her second start. Check out her trip at Aqueduct, NOV 13, Race 1. Her outside draw should ensure fair odds.
Terranova’s Volatility (9-2) comes out of that same race in which she raced wide throughout while chasing a very moderate pace. That race has one filly run back and won.
Third choice is the price shot Ella Frances (12-1), whose price probability won’t hold up given the Clement and Antonio Gallardo connections.
The filly worked well for this at her Payson base and Clement has been otherworldly when removing blinkers. She, like the two fillies mentioned above, add first-Lasix.
Straight betting will be a game time decision given price and post parade clues. The early line of 3-1 is fair on the Motion filly and if the Clement miss is half her early line quote, we’re interested.
Taking a three-horse exacta box then check out the straight option when the fillies approach the turf course.
