A sports betting license for BetMGM was issued by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board on July 21, 2022, under a condition. BetMGM is required to provide updates on the federal investigation into billionaire investor Barry Diller. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice are looking into Diller and his son-in-law, Alexander von Furstenberg, in relation to a $60 million profit on the purchase of Activision Blizzard Inc.
