The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

We said it before and shall again that when left we a choice at this time of year, we’ll shade those spots already intended to be run on Tapeta Track.

And today’s event if a competitive one in that whichever horse one lands on, a fair price should be in the offing. At least we’re hoping that’s the case with early line choice Sequin Lady (5-2).

What pushes us here more than video replay is the fact this filly came out running in her three-year-old debut, showing improved development on her juvenile form and knowing that Kelsey Danner is playing one of her favorite roles.

Danner is profitable in LAY-2 situations and even though she showed improvement with Lasix in her return, the trainer again is lifetime profitable with second-Lasix runners.

Throw it the fact this filly has the right style for today’s dynamics and in switching to Edgar Perez gets a rider whose best style is playing a tactical speed role, something that’s pretty likely in this spot.

And saving ground going 5-1/2 furlongs on the All-Weather is seldom a bad spot, assuming a clean break. She likely would have won her last if able to change to her proper lead but didn’t. heck out GP, MAY 20, Race 7.

We’re taking her to win but need the early line quote at 5-2 or better and quinellas with Graceleadsushome (8-1), a high percentage angle for Louie Roussel, and uncoupled surface-loving mate, Bunnynotbeast (2-1), reuniting with winning partner Junior Alvarado.
