The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Opting for a larger field on the Tampa turf to conclude the racing week, and while we don’t usually take turf-debut types over prove grass form, we will make an exception here.

Wrecking Ball (5-2) has a few angles and a trip going for for him here. Check out his debut at Tampa Bay Downs, JAN 22, Race 3, a better-than-looked effort on paper.

For openers Wrecking Ball is back on short rest after having showed speed while racing wide throughout at a higher grade in that spot.

Without hesitation he returns on the drop with long-time stable rider Ronnie Allen and trainer Maria Bowerstock moves gelding to the turf. The gray is a son of Amira’s Prince whose offspring win at an eye opening 19% first-time on grass.

Well spotted at this level and conditions, taking Wrecking Ball to win at early line odds or greater and key-boxing exactas with Artico (9-5), dropping dramatically and exiting a key race at GP, and Siciliano (8-1), who’s never taken a backward step on the Thoro-Graph scale.
