The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

As most serious South Florida handicappers know, Saffie Joseph’s young horse very often are better with a race under their belt. Such is the case with feature race favorite Avant Glory (7-5).

The daughter of Khozan rates to be a very tough out Sunday afternoon. After actually winning her racing debut, she returned vs. a tougher set and improved dramatically against the clock when second to impressive winner and subsequent repeater Dan Delivers.

Given sufficient recovery time from that effort–profitable spacing from this barn–the Florida-bred has been working strongly at Gulfstream’s satellite facility Palm Meadows, goes second-Lasix here and Edgard Zayas rides her a third straight time.

Avant Glory ran fast and wound up beating the show finisher by nearly three. It was a very good effort; check out Gulfstream Park, JUL 15, Race 8 and decide for yourself. We’ve seen enough.

Taking Avant Glory to win, no price restrictions, and quinellas with blinker-less Grainger County (3-1) and sharp recent claim, Septemberten (7-2).
