The “Worst Stinkin’ Bet of the Day” for Monday, February 17, 2020, will be in the 8th Race at Oaklawn Park, the Razorback Handicap.
Truths of the Turf: “Money talks and cheap claimers walk.”
Have you ever noticed a coincidental phenomenon, that on any particular day of racing, wherever the big money purses are, at least three (3) things occur: (1) big name jockeys, horses and trainers all seem to flock there; (2) full fields abound; (3) handle skyrockets. Wish somebody would explain it to me. They’ve tried ridiculous foo foo bets to increase handle; it does not work without good racing. They’ve tried giving away everything under the son; it does not work without good racing. They’ve tried hiring fast speaking, voluptuous women to tell us about horses dapples, and to convince us to play exotic fools’ wagers; it does not work without good racing.
While going through my Mom’s attic back in the 90s, came across an engraved pencil from my Elementary School days, it said “Theodore is a Math Expert.” My Mom never questioned my choice to use my skills for the Sport of Kings, and accompanied me to Saratoga whenever she could. Surround yourself with these kind of people, it does wonders in a world filled with negativity. Good racing and good people, that is a formula for success.
There are three horses in the Razorback that have won more than $1,000,000, and believe that one of these three will win today. 11-Bravazo was beaten by 10-Snapper Sinclair on 25 January on an off track, and will grant him a TTT pass. 4-Math Wizard also gets a pass for being beaten by the best in the country, and will be quite a handful in this spot. Cannot let my sentimental affiliation vis a vis 2-Math Wizard to affect my judgment, and must go with my top number here 11-Bravazo, who gets top number and top honors. Strut boldly to the window and tell them “Teddy” sent me.
11-Bravazo – The “Worst Stinkin’ Bet of the Day.”
Forget the rest.
