The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

By Marc Lawrence — Give It A Rest. Texas pitcher Jordan Lyles has lost the money in 18 of his 20 career team-starts during July, including all 7 starts at home.

His opponent tonight, Oakland’s Cole Irvin, is 6-1 with a 3.09 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP in his last seven overall team-starts.

With the A’s 10-2 when playing with a day off, and the Rangers 1-10 when rested this season, we’ll pile on Lyles once against this evening.
